{attempt #1 to go skiing} 8 Jan 2011

We wanted to take the kids skiing today. It was raining when we left, but wasn't suppose to be when we got there. The GPS took us up a VERY windy road up the mountain & then the ROAD WAS CLOSED!! The other way up, same thing...a closed road. We drove back down--the kids spotted a McDonald's sign. We stopped there for lunch and decided to drive home. We could have gone another way, but it would have been another 1 1/2hrs in the car & we weren't sure if it would be raining when we got there--we didn't want to take a chance.

I was able to take a few pictures on the trip............
We went through many tunnels-this one had ice/icicles:

Kiwi on a stick (Kiwi sullo stecco) @ McDonald's. Kieran got that with her happy meal....Mark got a brownie for dessert (instead of an apple pie). The McDonald's here have many other things on their menu.

{Gingerbread Houses} 20 Dec 2010

The kids got a kit to make mini gingerbread houses in their stocking from St. Nick. We spent the afternoon making a little village.

{Sledding-Asiago} 12 Dec 2010

We took the kids sledding up in Asiago @ Albergo Miramonti. We rented sleds and had a great time. There is a ski area there too--we'll ski there at some point this winter. The slopes are perfect for the kids (who haven't skied in a couple of years).

We went up again this past Sunday. It was cloudy, cold and snowing lightly. We had another fun Sunday sledding.

{Student of the Quarter} 10 Dec 2010

WooHoo Kieran--she was named Student of the Quarter for her class! Yesterday there was a 3rd grade assembly. We are SO proud of her!!!
