Day Trip to Estes Park/Rocky Mtn. National Park

We stopped to take the kids sledding but it was way TOO windy and way TOO cold. We'll try again either 1/1/09 or 1/2/09 before our weekly park pass expires.

Enjoy!

Mark's Christmas present :)

Mark requested a 100% cashmere scarf for Christmas. I finished it last night and he's really happy with it. I can't wait to take a picture of him wearing it. It was wonderful/soft to knit, I may have to make myself one ;)

Enjoy! Merry Christmas.

Playin' with my new toy!

Mark gave me a Nikon D90 for Christmas! He gave it to me early so I could take pictures on Christmas :) I played with it a lot today---there's a TON to learn. I can't wait to start taking awesome pictures.

Here are Kieran, Taryn (Mark's friend from school) and Mark playing outside today.

Kieran's Christmas ornament she picked out this year.

An ornament we bought while living in Italy.

A cold, winter day.

Our beautiful girl!
Enjoy!

Knit One, Save One

While on Ravelry, I saw a post on the Grey's Anatomy group board about one of the actresses (Katherine Heigl- Izzie Stevens) and her knitting for Save the Children. Here's the website in case you choose, like I did, to support this wonderful cause.

Had some free time this weekend......

YAY---I was able to play with paper this weekend. Here's a card I made with a kit from TSR.

Things are busy here. Soccer starts this week too! We've had several days of heavy rain prior to today...the sun came back out. Took the kids to see the Star Wars movie--we enjoyed it.

Good-bye Summer!

We had a fantastic week with Heidi and her kids and our mom visiting us here and then going back up to Heidi's for a week & attending the TSR Retreat too....a GREAT way to end summer!

I started my new job Monday at a middle school here. I'm the 6th grade SLD (specific learning disability) teacher. I will be taking courses while teaching and have my Special Ed. teaching license May '09. This is going to be a BUSY year.

I hope to keep up with posting layouts, sketches, cards, knitting projects, etc. I HOPE I have some free time to be creative! Probably not as much as this past year/summer---but I'm going to try (for sanity) to play with paper/stamps/yarn at least a few times a week.

Until my next update---
ENJOY life :)

A Sweater & A Set of Cards

WOW---my first knitting project in a LONG time---why did I pick a sweater?!?--it was such a cute pattern and I figured the blue would look great with K's eyes. I can't wait to start on my next project....DEFINITELY something smaller for a quick knit :)

I also made a set of cards for the TSR Retreat card swap at the end of July. I used some scraps from the Coordinates Collections June Kit (Flip Flops).

Sketch #1

Hey all---I decided to post some of my sketches with an example of a layout and a card. I am already sharing them with my friends on another message board and thought I'd post here as well. I LOVE seeing what everyone is doing with my sketch over there. As you can see my sketch is "hand drawn"---I didn't want to mess around with the computer--it would take TOO long ;)
Enjoy!

Weekend Layouts

Here are some layouts I finished this weekend. I went to a crop at Archiver's with my friend, Denise. It was fun getting together to scrap! I used the monthly kits from The ScrapRoom (TSR)
